We are delighted to confirm the return of former Magpie, York City and Poole Town midfielder Franklyn Clarke to the Koolpak stadium…
Clarke left local rivals Poole Town FC earlier this week after his contract was cancelled, with manager Tommy Killick describing the situation as “disappointing“. Having signed on a free transfer from Blackfield and Langley during the summer, Clarke had limited opportunities for the Dolphins, with his last appearance in the red and white shirt coming ten days ago in the ‘City Security Services’ Challenge League Cup penalty shootout victory over former employers Dorchester Town.
The 25 year old playmaker had hit the headlines during his first spell at Dorchester, leading to a step up to the professional game for York City. Clarke has already bagged two goals in the Evo-Stik Premier Division South, and will be hoping to add to his tally with Wimborne Town FC over the coming weeks.
Matty Holmes on his new signing –
“We are delighted to capture his signature, especially with other clubs interested in him. Despite our lowly league position, he feels that our style of play will suit his game and he can’t wait to help us push up the league.
He will give us great energy off the ball and also the quality on the ball, to be a big asset to this team.“
