PREVIEW: Wimborne Town FC V Chesham United

The 2018-19 season concludes this Saturday and the Magpies see off their heroic and historical campaign on home soil, as Chesham United make the trip down to the Koolpak Stadium, with the hosts 20/21 favourites at BetVictor…

With survival all but confirmed, Wimborne will be looking to sign off in style in-front of a bustling home crowd, who have been instrumental in this monumental campaign. Sitting in 15th place, three points could see the Magpies climb to 13th by the end of play. Defeat and a number of results going the other way, and Wimborne may find themselves just outside the relegation places. It’s that congested, with only three points separating the Magpies from 20th placed Walton Casuals, who have a seven goal inferior goal difference.

Meanwhile visitors Chesham could leapfrog last Saturday’s opponents Swindon Supermarine, and climb three places to 8th with a victory. The Generals, who had lost seven of their first eight league games, held the Magpies to a 1-1 back in September, their only point until a 1-0 victory on the road to Farnborough nearly a month later. Unbeaten in fourteen since Christmas Day, with the reverse fixture ending in the other way round, to end that run. The Magpies, who had a similar streak post Christmas, had lost six of their last seven prior to crucial wins away at Harrow and against Swindon Supermarine.

Chesham are unbeaten on the road since December and keep goals at both end very limited. Wimborne have bagged 18 more goals than the visitors, but have conceded two dozen more. Let’s not end on a 0-0…

The Clubhouse will also be hosting a pre-match Happy Hour, with all pints just £2.50!
