PREVIEW: Wimborne Town FC V Hartley Wintney

League action returns to the Koolpak stadium this Saturday after three successive away games, as we welcome Hartley Wintney FC.

It’s been a fortnight in which the Magpies have continued to demonstrate their ability to compete with established Evo-Stik Southern Premier sides, but has also been frustrating, as for the second time this season, twice a lead against Basingstoke was lost. Concentration was also lost for short spells against Hendon and Swindon Supermarine, but hopes are high that results will come, especially as goals scored certainly are.

The list of players unavailable for selection grows even longer, Toby Holmes is suspended after being sent off in the FA Trophy last saturday, whilst Sam Davidson serves the last game of his three match suspension. Jack Lovell and Billy Maybury remain out, Paddy Hester continues his recovery and is a doubt. Louis Kellaway could be set for his Swansong before he departs the club.

Visitors Hartley Wintney sit in 10th position, amongst a very tight group of teams just outside the play off positions, only one point separates 5th from 10th. They come to the Koolpak on the back of a 5-1 away defeat to Tiverton Town, having been held at home and requiring a replay in the FA Cup Qualifiers.

Swansong for Kellaway

As many will now know, Louis Kellaway will be in the matchday squad for the final time this Saturday, as he departs for Australia for the rest of the season. Having progressed through the youth system, Louis made his 100th start for the Magpies last season. We wish one of our own the very best of luck in his travels.

Minute silence

In light of the tragic accident last week at Leicester, we ask all supporters to join and pay their respects before the game, where one minute’s silence will be observed.
