Wimborne Town welcome Staines Town FC to the Koolpak stadium this Saturday afternoon, hoping to continue their remarkable run at home by winning their fourth game in a row.
Wimborne endured yet more heartbreak on the road last week, scoring twice but ultimately losing 4-2 to Taunton Town FC. Those goals however, propelled the Magpies into 6th place in the goal scoring charts, joint with Tiverton Town, who also sit 6th in the league itself. To put this into perspective, Harrow Borough are the only side to score more goals outside the top 5, though Wimborne do sit joint third from bottom in the worst defensive chart.
The Magpies will fancy their chances, as Staines currently sit second from bottom in the league and have been desperately struggling this season. Despite playing one more game than Wimborne, they have scored seven less goals and are one of the teams with worse defensive record, having conceded eleven more goals. They have lost all but three of their 15 league matches this season, including eight of their previous nine. Their only points on the road this season came in a 2-0 away victory at Poole Town back in September.
Three points for Wimborne could lift them up to 14th place, whilst Staines will remain in the bottom three regardless of the result.
