PREVIEW: Wimborne Town FC V Weymouth FC

We welcome Weymouth FC to the Koolpak stadium this Tuesday evening for a 7:45pm KO in the First Round of the Southern League Challenge Cup. This is the fourth consecutive season we’ve met Weymouth in this competition, losing on the previous three occasions.

Mark Molesley’s men arrive sitting joint top of the Evo-Stik Southern Premier League, with Tiverton Town and Hendon on 17 points. Last Saturday, they comfortably beat Staines Town 4-1 away from home, with Stephane Zubar bagging two goals.

Ties are played on a single leg basis, with penalty kicks deciding the winner should it be all square after ninety minutes.

Team news:

Jack Lovell is sidelined with a knee injury sustained on Saturday against Beaconsfield. Matty Oldring is again unavailable for this game.

This Saturday, Wimborne Town FC then make the short trip to the Bob Lucas Stadium, for our first league meeting of the season.

There is a mini bus organised by the Wimborne Supporter’s Club which is available to all supporters. Departure time from the Cuthbury TBA, ring Bryan McCann on 07950 399075 to book your place!
