It’s Taunton Town’s turn to make the trip down to the Koolpak stadium this Saturday, as Wimborne look to continue their remarkable run of form, having won seven of their last eight league games on home soil, with Beaconsfield the last side to return home with 3pts, all the way back in September.
This will be the reverse fixture between these two sides, with Wimborne slipping to a 4-2 defeat in Somerset back in November. Despite Wimborne having taken the lead early on through Curtis Young, a spirited second half performance by the Peacocks saw them put four past Benfield, who had a hostile crowd on his back. A consolation goal from super sub Jack Lovell wasn’t enough to mount a comeback.
Taunton meanwhile have lost two of their last three away from home, with all five of their league defeats this Season coming on their travels. They’re without a clean sheet in eight, a run that extends to fourteen for their last on the road.
The league’s 7th highest scorers Wimborne could rise above Poole Town, who face a trip to Dorchester Town, into 11th place. Defeat for Taunton would see their lead at the top fall to just 3pts, if a Met Police side with two games in hand, can take all the points at home to Hartley Wintney.
Come show your support this Saturday, for what is almost certainly going to be a cracker…
