We are delighted to announce the signing of former Portsmouth, Bournemouth and AFC Totton midfielder Carl Pettefer from Poole Town FC.
Carl is a composed midfield player, with a wealth of experience in the football league, having also had spells at Exeter City, Southend and Oxford United. Carl’s final game for Poole will be Saturday’s match at home to Chesham United, where he is widely expected to receive much appreciation from supporters and the club alike, having been at the Black Gold Stadium since 2013.
Poole Town Chairman Chris Reeves:
“To contemplate Carl Pettefer not being a Poole Town player is very hard. He is probably up there in the top 5 or so most popular players ever to have worn our colours. He has never once given less than 100% in any game and his consistency of form has been a constant 8 plus out of ten never letting his standards slip.
He will always be regarded however as “one of our own” and will be inducted into the Poole Town “Hall of Fame” at the next ‘Legends Night’. Good luck in all you do Carl, a true friend.”
Carl’s first game in black and white could be next Saturday’s visit of Farnborough, as he is unavailable for selection for Tuesday’s trip to Walton Casuals.
