How would you describe your first season playing senior women’s football?

“My first season in women’s football has been great. It has really helped me develop and grow as a player, especially my physicality. I feel like I play stronger now. Getting to step up to the senior team very soon after joining Wimborne’s U18 JPL squad was a real honour.”

What has been your proudest moment on the pitch this season?

“Being top goal-scorer at Wimborne Town FC overall this season with 29 goals is my proudest moment. My debut for the first team against Havant and Waterlooville was a big moment for me. It was a hard but very good and enjoyable game as we won 2-1. Scoring in the Chairman’s cup at home was a proud moment and it was great to score in our last game of the season too.”

Has the transition from youth to senior football changed how you approach the game?

“The transition to women’s football has developed me into a more physical player as I’ve needed to be strong in games to keep possession and win the ball.”

What has been the biggest challenge you’ve face this season, and how did you deal with it?

“In my debut for the women, against Havant and Waterlooville, I discovered how physical the game was. Since then, I’ve worked hard to develop my strength, so I can now definitely hold my own against senior team players. I think, along with shooting and vision, now strength is one of my best skills.”

Was there a particular moment where you really felt the difference between U18s and First Team football?

“Both teams have their own style of play, so when making my debut for the women’s team, I noticed the tactics and way of playing was different. The JPL matches are fast with lots of short, sharp passing so it helps to have good vision and technical ability. But the physicality of the women’s game has meant I’ve needed to be confident to go into tackles and play my football.”

If you could give advice to another young player about to step into senior football, what would you say?

“I would say to not be scared about it being more physical, as there is nothing to worry about, and to just go into it with confidence and strength.”
