Next up for the Magpies… The Rams

The Magpies hit the road again this Saturday heading for Buckinghamshire to tackle The Rams at Holloways Park stadium. Beaconsfield Town have been sruggling badly so far this season losing all 6 of their league matches. Although Tuesday night Beaconsfield Town defeated Harrow Borough 3-2 with only 77 people in attendance in the Southern League Challenge Cup to progress to the next round, their first win this season!

Meanwhile the Magpies, after giving chances to several young players to impress new manager Danny Holmes on Tuesday night, stunned the Poole Town supporters with a 4-2 win at the Black Gold stadium, Tatnam in the Southern League Challenge Cup to progress to the next round, this was manager Danny Holmes first win at the helm of the team.

Danny revealed in his after match interview with Radio Wimborne that Luke Holmes was likley to sign for our local rivals Poole Town but didn’t rule out a return to J & B’s Stadium, Cuthbury at some point in the future. He also confirmed that he now has a nice headache after good showings by the youngsters that together with Matty Holmes, the youth and development management teams, have been progressing, teaching and developing for the future possible roles in the first team.

With players like Matt Dodd, Harry Heylar, Josh Hall and Lewis Gunstone-Grey showing up well together with Sam Bayston slotting into the number 11 shirt, looking like he wants to own it. Also Charlie Tilsed and Aiden Shepherd had chances to shine after coming off the bench in the second half. With good competition for the starting eleven this can only be positive for the Magpies in the long term, and that competition for places is starting to hot up.
